ROI On New Content Added To Aged Money Sites (Greg: on-going)

What

Test the time to rank and financial return on articles that are added to aged money sites within proven high RPM ($100+) niches. Our initial hypothesis is that articles will take 45 days to earn and have paid itself off  by the 90 day mark (based on a cost of $1 per 100 words of content) without link building, purely on long-tail traffic.

Why

New sites are taking 4-6 months to gain any traction with rankings. Our hypothesis is that the ROI will be greater on adding content to existing niche sites as opposed to continually building new sites from scratch. ROI can be defined as both short-term (how soon newly added content pays itself off with Adsense revenue) and long-term (monthly revenue per site + revenue from site flips).

How

A portion of Interns in our July and August Internships will be given access to our experiment sites. Each will be given seed keywords or category descriptions to perform keyword research on. Interns will write articles based on keywords that pass our keyword research filters and add their content to the sites. URLs will be tracked in Google Analytic and Google Adsense to assess traffic and earnings directly from the added content.

Who

Interns will be given an inside look into this experiment. Content will be added by Internship participants ad part of our monthly internship training.

When

This experiment commenced 9th July 2014 and will run for 90 days.
